NHMRC Food Standards Code 1987 [extract]

The following is verbatim from the South Australian law books:

10 (a) Meat wine or beef wine is wine to which has been added extract of meat of beef.

10 (b) Meat wine or beef wine or any wine that is represented to contain extract of meat or beef shall contain not less than 20 g/L of protein.

10 (c) There shall be written in the label on or attached to a package containing meat wine or beef wine, in standard type of 3mm, the words - 'MEAT WINE' or, as the case may be, 'BEEF WINE'.
What the hell is meat wine?
