You know, I'm just about to give up on the whole wine thing until I get home, where I know that there are a few cases of Ridge and Bonny Doon waiting for me.

The story so far, this month:

2001 Palandri riesling (WA): tastes exactly like green olives. What is this shit?

2001 Rosemount shiraz (NSW?): tastes like My First Wine™ by Smuckers. Bleah.

2001 d'Arenberg The Stump Jump riesling marsanne something or other: OK, but good for US$5 a bottle. Nothing special but it was cheaper than ordering a Coke at a Thai restaurant in Geraldton.

1995 Lindemans Padthaway botrytised riesling: Um. Pretty good at A$14. Lovely 2000 Olympics label.

NV Lindemans Spirit of the Olympics port (or something): Extra special dorky as hell label. Haven't opened it yet but it's the last bottle I'm buying for the near future. Still have to lose weight. Have decided to hold off on wine purchases until duty free for the week in Bali. V. annoyed that Pantene sold in WA is usually well past the sell-by date. Beard growing back in the Griffithian corners for the first time in months: distinct possibility of being the prettiest once again. Go me!
