More incredibly trivial trivia.

Being a closet geek, I have already started shopping for a new computer which I plan to buy just as soon as I find work next January. (The last computer I bought was my Apple Loan-to-Own system, a beige G3, circa 1998.)

Did you know that Apple's high end flat panel display costs more than a 2 GHz P4 Dell PC with DVD+RW, 1 GB of RDRAM, FireWire [...], and a 20" flat panel display?

That's right.

Would you pay $3,499 for a 23" monitor alone, or $3,299 for a high end PC with a 20" monitor?

Or would you pay $3,299 for a dual 1.25 GHz G4 Mac with no display at all? (Would it help if Apple told you not to expect shipment for at least 6-8 weeks?) Don't worry, the 17" flat panel display is only $999 extra. (There is however a $200 rebate... which is valid only if Apple actually ships you your computer before September 30, which according to their Web site they cannot ship before October 7 at the very earliest, but I digress...)

*gulp*
