I know a lot of you are upset - to put it mildly - about Prop 8 having passed.
But do me a favor? When you post stuff like this list of businesses to boycott, do some fact checking first?
Albertsons - at least the Albertsons here in southern California - scored a perfect 100% on the HRC Equality Index. Hint: they're owned by SuperValu.
So did Marriott International.
House of Fabrics doesn't even exist as an independent company these days - they're part of Jo-Ann Stores - and even they don't discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. Besides, do you really think that the company founders were Mormon? After all, they were immigrants from Nazi Germany.
Before you put together lists like that, use the Google. Search HRC's database. Use common sense.
Finally, please keep in mind that there are lot of good Mormons out there as well. Morris Thurston, for example, or Sarah Pratt. It's never right to hate an entire religion just because a fair number of them gave money to deny you your rights. Support the good ones and hope that their voices come to dominate the discussion within their church. People can change, but they need support and love to do so, especially when their theology makes it so difficult for them.
