Finally, Bush does something right

This might be could well be the only good thing Bush does this year:

President Signs Bill Repealing Discriminatory HIV Travel and Immigration Law

Years ago, I was chatting with two friends in Melbourne who detailed all of the insanity they had to put up with when trying to visit the USA on vacation: mailing ahead HIV meds to friends in San Francisco, rehearsing stories as to why they wanted to visit the country, carefully packing their luggage so as to not give away the simple fact that they were HIV positive. What a pain in the ass - and how ridiculous from a public health perspective. I'm glad we're making some progress here: now, all we have to do is get HHS to update some regulations and we should finally achieve parity with some basic standards of human rights.
