In other extremely trivial musical interest

1. I had thought Black Magic Woman was a Santana song, but it turns out it's actually Peter Green what wrote it. This came up due to an extended discussion about a missing Xbox 360 power cable I had earlier this morning with zodmicrobe - all of this talk about 3-prong vs. 2-prong got me thinking about the Melvins cover of The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Prong Crown), which I had for some reason always thought was a Pink Floyd cover. It's not: it's Fleetwood Mac, and it's Peter Green what wrote that one as well. Hm.

2. Listening to Dave Grohl's drumming on QOTSA's Songs for the Deaf, it strikes me that he sounds a LOT like Duty Now For The Future-era Devo on that album. It's still my favorite album of theirs (Lullabies to Paralyze, well, I've never been able to get into that, and the new one ain't half bad but I think it's still missing something).

3. I'm still tempted to buy some of Tool's singer's vineyard's wine, but come on: $95.99 for Arizona cabernet sauvignon? I'm really not sure about the QPR here...
