I'm also grimly fascinated by people daring to discuss transsexuals in general - on some level, of course they have nothing to do with "us" - same-sex attraction isn't really the same thing as being born into a body of the wrong gender. And yet there's something I feel a great kinship with: the notion that we are all born with but one life and that we should have the right to live it as best suits who we feel we really are (I may not need surgery to publicly perform the gender role that I feel uniquely suits me, but I do need similar legal protections to do it without getting locked up as a sexual deviant). You know?
