9/11 rollup

Just so you don't have to read all of the entries, here's a rollup of who's posted what so far [please message me if you'd like to see something added here]:

bix02138 says "i'm as wary of shared grief as i am of communal joy."
mattycub finds the Bush administration "ridiculous" and is suspicious of people who insist that it's time to "move on."
jliv suggests you "move on" unless you were "personally affected by the events of 2001." is rewriting his post.
philbutrin wishes "that the US had a president, and policies, that didn't make the rest of the world hate us so much."
nfotxn declares today to be "American Histrionics Day" in an unfortunately poorly edited post.
badrobot68 describes the time he called 911 when "a big fat naked guy" jiggled his doorknob.
jawnbc indulges in a weird variant of "'Bush II' (sic) caused the attacks" fantasy.
macduff131 "wasn't going to write anything about 9/11 today" but did.
abearius remarks that "everybody thought George Bush was a dumbass" on September 10, and comments on America's "imperial political neuroses."
kingfuraday asks if you Need to Remember?
jdtdco has some excellent advice for all of us.
martymcflymo describes his reaction to the original attacks as "well... it kinda makes sense doesn't it?" (essentially another variant of Americans are stupid and deserve what they get)

And that's all I have so far. In the meantime, here are my thoughts on the subject right at this moment:

1. There sure are a lot of conspiracy theorists in San Diego.
2. Islamic fundamentalists would hate us even if Noam Chomsky were president.
3. Boy, is that memorial ugly.

Feel free to jump back six years if you'd like to read what I had to say about it at the time.
