Oh, which reminds me

For all of you that are wondering what kind of Christmas present would really excite me, here it is:

The Grateful Palate is a mail order business in Oxnard, CA. As I've mentioned on this blog before, they produce custom roasted coffee blends that have been designed by American and Australian winemakers - this is exactly the sort of thing that I get excited about. Mind you, Dan's already strongly hinted that he's placed an order for this... :)

For the rest of you, check out their Web site. Chris, Dave et al - I'm specifically thinking of you here. I chatted with the company yesterday and they've already soft-opened their first retail storefront in Oxnard; call them for directions (it's hidden away in an industrial park and sounds kinda hard to find). They hope to be open from Monday through Friday; not everything is up and running (e.g. their bacon selection isn't available yet), but they should have it all online in early January. Somehow I imagine that one of you LA types will be driving out there next month to score your very own I GOT PORKED BY THE GRATEFUL PALATE T-shirts along with a few pounds of artisanal bacon. No?
