SAN DIEGO -- A man's body was found submerged in a bath house spa in Hillcrest early Friday morning. The death appears to be accidental. Paramedics were called to Club San Diego on Fourth Avenue near University Avenue at 4:07 a.m. after a patron got into the hot tub and stepped on the corpse. The body had been under water for "quite some time," San Diego police Sgt. Jim Schorr said. Paramedics were unable to resuscitate the man and he was pronounced dead at a hospital. Police say their initial investigation concluded that the man's death was an accident. The county Medical Examiner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of the man's death and police said homicide detectives will investigate if anything suspicious is found.
