Albertson's also had a whole series of really fantastically packaged wines labeled 'Sideshow.' The theming is vaguely Trader Joe's, but it looks more like Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge than anything else. They've got circus animals etc. on the bottles - shades of Bonny Doon's Il Circo - and they're imported, cheap [$5.40 a bottle], and hopefully pretty good. I picked up the Spanish rosé and garnacha, the Argentine shiraz malbec, and the Aussie riesling and GSM. Apparently the idea is to sell "unusual" wine [although frankly none of these strike me as terribly unusual]. I passed on the chardonnay chenin blanc, and it seemed like Albertson's wasn't carrying the entire product line. I wonder what the rest are; shame there's no Web site that I can find!
