Now, the sun's set, and I've stocked the fireplace with "logs" and put a bottle of Carneros sparkling wine (blanc de noirs, almost as good as rosé in my book) on ice. The widescreen TV and progressive scan DVD are stocked with two movies, the blankets and pillows are out on the sofas. Heck, I might even order a pizza if I'm so inclined.
Tomorrow, I plan on going for a longer hike (probably Almaden Quicksilver again), and then I'll have dinner with K. at the only East German restaurant I know of in the USA - Walzwerk, in San Francisco, possibly followed by a Californian version of Bündnertorte at a dessert shop on Market Street.
Times like these, I'm glad I live in California. Life is good.
