To whom it may concern:

On December 20, 2003, I stopped by this store to buy an ice cream cake for my Dad's birthday party. I arranged to pick it up after 1 PM on December 29 - and I paid in full. In return I was given receipt number 7847385.

When my Mom stopped by the store on the afternoon of the 29th to pick up the cake, store staff told her that they didn't have the cake and couldn't provide a replacement cake.

When I went to the store on January 6, 2004, I was told by the manager that the store had changed ownership on January 1, 2004 and that I would not be able to get my money back. They suggested I try to call the previous owner - "Ric" - at (425) 269-5546 and beg him for my money.

Needless to say, it sucks when you order a birthday cake and it isn't ready when a Baskin-Robbins store says it will be. However, it really, really sucks when you go back the next week to pick it up only to be told that they can't help you at all.

What do you suggest I do next?
