I've booked a table at Hemelse Modder for 6 people on Sunday the 23rd at 7 PM. As you can see from their menu, expect to pay about €26 to €32 for a meal. Beer is €2 a glass.
I have also submitted a reservation for Indrapura for 6 people on Tuesday the 25th at 6 PM. A rijsttafel is €22.50; beer is €3.05 for half a liter.
For those of you who haven't had rijsttafel before, the thing is basically a cod-Indonesian smorgasbord. Lots of dishes are brought to the table and you pick and choose between them. Indrapura has always been one of the high points of a visit to Amsterdam, so I'm glad to have our last dinner together there.
Update: Indrapura wrote back and confirmed our reservation for Tuesday night. Yay!
Hemelse Modder, meanwhile, is known for cheap but eclectic modern European cooking along with their chocolate mousse. I believe it's also gay owned and operated but that's neither here nor there. I've been meaning to eat there for years but never could get a table before!
