Another thing I don't get.

Why is it that I keep reading about universities who are purchasing music subscriptions, licenses, etc. for their students? For example, Napster 2.0 announced a deal with Penn State this week - what's that about? When I was a student, I never caught the chancellor coming round the dorms handing out free doughnuts... Given that most universities are pretty hard pressed for cash, especially public ones, I'm kind of disgusted by the idea that they'd sooner spend money on free music downloads for the kids instead of on additional teaching staff or library books.
