I was compelled to buy one of the two cases. Talked to the fine folks at Garagiste this morning and they've just charged me an amount of money that makes me deeply uncomfortable - I keep justifying it by taking the price direct from Clonakilla - US$36 - and telling myself that adding $7 per bottle to transport it to the USA is a good deal. It's actually a great deal, but that's still a lot of money. That's a week's pay.
That was the last piece of the puzzle for my Australian sabbatical. It's all over now. I'm looking forward to cracking one of those bottles open twenty years from now and remembering what it was like to stand there in the winery with Tim the winemaker, drawing out a bit of the wine from the barrel, having a taste, and marvelling at how lucky I was to be able to take the time off and do such a thing. Thanks AOL!
OK, back to work.
