We did it.

I'm a married man!

Thanks to:

Mom and Dad for trusting me to find my own way
Randy and Lisa for showing me it's possible to trust yourself
Mike and Marcia for welcoming me into their family
Kim and Charlie for the flamingos
Tim and Gilda for Mark and Jocelyn
Boo for cupcake delivery
Henry for the best God damn grooms' cake I've ever had
Mark and John for their smiles
Brian, Mike, Sean, and Tim for ushing like crazy
Richard, my best man, for absolutely everything
Michael, Dan's best man, for Helene and Anya
Mike and Matt for documenting it all
Christine for the beautiful flowers
Greg and Chris for the picture in this post
Tioli's Crazee Burger (honest!) for amazing food
Will of Eclipse Chocolat for the truffles
Chris and Dan for making the trip
The other 100 people I won't mention here due to (a) tired and (b) sleepy

and finally

Austin, for his shouty voice, love, friendship, and text. Thank you, Austin!

I can't believe it happened. I really can't. I'm overjoyed.

As Walt Whitman said:

The past and present wilt--I have fill'd them, emptied them.
And proceed to fill my next fold of the future.

Listener up there! what have you to confide to me?
Look in my face while I snuff the sidle of evening,
(Talk honestly, no one else hears you, and I stay only a minute longer.)

Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

Good night!

Right now, I'm at home relaxing, reestablishing my love affair with the couch, happy.

There will eventually be a Flickr pool to group pictures from the wedding - don't worry about that. For now, I'm gonna link to a few pics to start and then enjoy the cool San Diego breeze.

Oh, and a cupcake. I had a vanilla cupcake at 3am last night and all was right with the world.

Roy/inbhirnis contributed by generously donating fridge space so that Henry/bearringsd could keep the grooms' cake cooled and ready for the presentation after dinner last night. There's a picture of the cake over at Roy's Flickr page, but I liked this one very much too:

From left to right: an indirect Bears Gone Wild! reference ("I didn't peg you as the green shirt sort"), Listerine breath strips (hey, if you're gonna kiss someone, it's better if you don't taste like a four-hour-old breakfast burrito), a Netscape 6 ship-it (code name: Seamonkey), shamrockified coasters from Dan's Mom, and of course the all important marriage license, which I just mailed off half an hour ago at the North Park post office (the catering + the chocolates were all straight outta North Park: the entire wedding was produced in zip code 92104, with the exception of the beverages, cupcakes, and Moo cards).

The groom! Dan

I never thought it possible, but yes, you can indeed take great pictures with iPhone! Here's Dan at the front door to our house just shy of 4:30pm: we had just changed into the tuxes (after hiding from guests due to heinous, grotty clothing (more evidence at Yada's Flickr page!)) and greeted folks for a while before disappearing to get down to business... as soon as the damn sun would go down enough to make the lighting work in the back yard.

In the meantime, our intrepid guests braved the hot sun, we ran out of water, and Jeremiah, Mike, and Michael went over to Albertson's and bought more. These are my friends, and this is why I am grateful for them.
