I blew away my iBook today - I was tired of dealing with itty bitty 9 GB partitions. It's gotten to the point where I don't really need to worry about Mac OS 9.x clients - it's almost 2005, so I figure everyone can just go ahead and get a new Mac if they start having compatiblity problems with Web browsers.
So, it's now got one gigantically huge 18 GB partition on it [this was what the poor thing shipped with in 2001]. After installing Panther, Software Update asked me if I'd like to install 181.5 MB worth of software... I said sure.
What's amusing is that that's over twice as large as the entire hard disk that shipped with my Centris 610 nearly twelve years ago.
We've come a long way.
