- 1997 Gundlach Bundschu Zinfandel (Morse Vineyard, Sonoma Valley). This tastes... like a 14% solution of alcohol, with little in the way of discernible flavors. Kind of thin.
- 1996 San Esteban Gran Reserva Chilean cabernet sauvignon. This is also mysteriously lacking in flavor, although this one also has an unpleasant acid note at the finish.
Of course, the heinous thing is that I probably would have liked this okay back in college. It doesn't taste of cork or smell like ass, and on the whole it's better than Gallo Hearty Burgundy. Still, it sucks.
