Idle thought #42.

I read today that in Lithuanian, the word "čiurka" is an extremely pejorative word for Asians, and now I'm wondering if the German word "Schurke" is in fact etymologically related. [In German, it means something like "villain". In a Simpsons episode, the phrase "Hands off my jerky, turkey!" (spoken by Apu) was translated as "Finger weg von der Gurke, du Schurke!", or "Get your hands off my pickle, you bastard!" This is not to be confused with Terry Bozzio talking about "his pickle" in the middle of Frank Zappa's Titties and Beer, however.]
