TN: 2001 Oakley Vin Blanc, aka Côtes d'Oakley

This is one of those everything but the kitchen sink kind of wines, the type of thing you run into a lot with reds, but seldom with whites. According to the label, this is marsanne roussanne viognier semillon sauvignon blanc chardonnay palomino pinot gris gewürztraminer and riesling. Whew. But what does it taste like? Well, I get a pretty big hint of that weird but pleasant viognier/roussanne oiliness more than anything else, but with reduced aromatics. It's not particularly sweet, but the acid is perhaps a tiny bit lacking, so it comes across as slightly bitter and vaguely flabby. For $6, it's not bad, but I suggest y'all stick with the Bonny Doon Big House White. It's a touch more expensive at $8, but its relatively straightforward riesling-sauvignon blanc aromatics are a lot more compelling than this.
